In order to receive information that is relevant to you, the unit offers S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding), which pre-programs the device to receive only those warnings that apply to your local area--you can choose state, county, and/or nearby counties. This device supports both AM and FM signals, and features an atomic clock providing the most accurate form of time keeping available. This unit automatically receives radio signals from the U.S. Atomic Clock in Fort Collins, Colorado. Not only does this consistently adjust the clock to within one second of official U.S. government, but automatically adjusts the time for Daylight Savings Time as well. A light sensor detects low light conditions and lights up the LCD Display. The indoor temperature is displayed in either C or F. Includes an AC Adapter, or you can use a battery back up with 4 AA Batteries (not included). This product is backed by Honeywell, and includes a 1 year warranty.
